Identify And Manage Orders With Out-of-Stock Items
Some orders will be put on hold due to inventory issues like item being out of stock. Learn how to check which Orders and Items are affected.
When working with ShipBots, it's essential to swiftly identify and resolve issues with orders affected by out-of-stock items to maintain a smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
Locating Back Order Items
There are two ways you can locate backorder items:
- Through your dashboard
- Through your orders page
Locating orders with backorder items in your dashboard
When you log in to your portal via www.shipbots.com/portal The first thing you will see is a summary of orders that might need your attention. All the way to your right, you will find the section called Backorder. In this section, you will find any orders that are not ready to ship because they have missing items.
Click on the #OrderNo to see its details.
When you open the order, a yellow box at the top will tell you which products are missing, along with any other issues affecting that order. In the item section, backordered items are flagged with bold red identifiers.
You can also see a more detailed view of your backordered items from the Orders page. In the left menu, go to the Orders section and click Orders to open all your orders. You'll find a row of filters at the top, click the Backordered filter.
Note: Some orders may not appear right away. By default, an automatic filter shows only orders created within the last week. To see everything, click Filters, change the "created date" time frame, and apply your changes, all your orders should then show up.
Locating orders with out-of-stock items across all your orders
If you're interested in seeing the quantity of out-of-stock items across all your orders, you can do so very simply:
- Go to your products page.
- Click in the backorder filter in the top.
Once the filter updates, you will see a column that says Backorder. The filter will eliminate from this view any products that do not have any backorders. The column Backorder will show you the quantity of backorder items or out-of-stock items that you have across all your orders.
You can also view the orders associated with a backordered item. Click the product name, and under Orders you'll see every order tied to that item. To narrow this to backordered orders only, click Filters under the order section, select Backordered under Status, and apply your changes. The orders that remain are the out-of-stock orders for that item.
